Winter breaks
Plockton is a bustling and lively tourist spot during the summer but it’s also a spectacular location for a winter break.
So many popular tourist destinations become ghost towns in the winter. Luckily that’s not the case here!
Plockton Inn’s famous ‘music nights’ run on a Thursday evening all year round so you can still enjoy the great atmosphere and live, traditional music. Or you can put your general knowledge to the test with the Inn’s pub quiz, held on a Friday night. The village is a bit quieter at this time of year so you can relax by an open fire in one of the village’s pubs or enjoy some of the seasonal dishes prepared by the local restaurants.
The beautiful sunsets we enjoy here are even more thrilling at this time of the year and the village is breathtaking when it’s covered by a layer of crisp, white snow. Artists and photographers in particular will get a kick out of the bright, winter light and dramatic changes in weather.
And after a day of exploring in the bracing wind you know you’ll have a warm evening ahead, curled up on The Siding’s sofa, in front of the fire, with the Christmas tree lights twinkling in the background.
We always supply a decorated christmas tree for all of our guests over the festive season.
Remember: there’s no such thing as the wrong weather, only the wrong clothes! So wrap up warm and come and enjoy the beauty of the Highlands in winter.
